Our Sunday service is at 10:30am and is designed to be relevant and meaningful. We have programmes for babies and toddlers, children and young people. We want to provide space for response and a trained prayer ministry team is always present. Each month join us after the service for Sunday lunch. It's a great opportunity to get to know people across the church.
Our children's work is a big part of WWSBC. Creating an exciting, engaging and thought-provoking programme that brings the reality of following God to the fore is always at the heart of this important ministry area. Impacting children and their families with a sense of belonging and the knowledge that they are a valuable part of God's kingdom is what we are about!

We value children. On a Sunday morning we offer a fun and creative children's programme with age specific groups designed to help the children discover and learn more about how much God loves us, what it means to follow the way of Jesus and what role they can play in that in our communities. Each group uses a mix of creative stories, music, craft and games to enable the children to explore and respond to the week's theme.
We have a fully staffed creche made up of volunteers who care for both babies and toddlers up to the age of three.
When reaching their third birthday children can move into our blue lights group - a group specifically geared to our younger children where they can discover that they belong to God and that Jesus loves them through stories, play times, crafts, singing and games.
Green Lights is for our children in years 1 and 2 and provides an action packed space for the children to learn that God loves them, creatively engage with Bible stories and explore what it means to follow Jesus. All through role play, games and craft - all linked to the message of the week.
Purple Lights is for our children in years 3 and 4 and ensures they enjoy learning about God's love for us, explore ways of worshipping God and discover the exciting opportunity of having a relationship with Jesus.
Red Lights is for our oldest children, in school years 5 and 6. We aim to provide a space where they can encounter God through a mix of drama, stories, music and quizzes in a fun and dynamic style with the emphasis on developing and growing their relationship with Jesus.
All volunteers working with children and young people have a current DBS check. To assist us in the safeguarding of children registration is essential when leaving your child.
We want to see a Jesus-centred generation, aiming to learn, grow and build a fun and inclusive community here in West Wickham and Shirley and beyond. We are a vibrant and active group of young people who gather together to catch up, hang out and learn more about God and His plans for our lives. We have so much going on week to week, including Boys' & Girls' Brigade, Youth Bible Study, Starbucks Youth, Youth Weekends and much more!
Alpha runs for 10 weeks and includes food, a short talk and a discussion in small groups where you can share your thoughts. Our next course is 24th April 2017 sign up now.
Small groups provide a place to share life, be discipled and build relationships. It's also the place to grow spiritually and develop the gifts that God has given you. They enable us to be part of a small community where we can love, pray and care for one another.
We have small groups that meet in both West Wickham and Shirley, that meet on different days and times of the week.
Once a quarter we run a Newcomers' Welcome Supper for those who are visiting or who have joined the church within the previous few months. We enjoy a great three course meal together, listen to a brief presentation about church life and have a time for Q&A. It's a great opportunity to meet new people, find out more about life at WWSBC and how you can get connected into the community, and look together about what membership is all about. The evening is completely free of charge - it's our welcome gift to you.
If you would like to know when the next newcomers' supper is taking place please contact the church office on 020 8777 5705 or email us at email@example.com
